Increasing dietary Calcium should be the mainstay of nutritional advice. Taking adequate Vitamin D will also be an important part of the treatment but this may well need a supplement.

These will include Calcium containing supplements plus a range of alternative treatments such as bone strengthening drugs called biphosphonates and a review of the use HRT in post menopausal women.
